Week of September 4-9
Hello Parents and Students. I hope you all had a fun extra long weekend! Let’s get ready to rev up our thinking engines for another 3rd grade week of turbo charged learning!
English This week we are still reviewing all the punctuation rules for
capitalization, periods, commas, apostrophes, and quotations in
order to write the best sentences possible! We are becoming great 3rd grade writers this year!
Reading In our Daily 5 time, we are building our reading stamina with a
goal set for 20 minutes of uninterrupted reading this week! We
are also partner reading a fun book called Frindle. Ask your
child who the main character is and what he does.
Writing Thank you for supporting your child in helping them make a
collage about their life! This will help grow their list of topics
they can write about. We’ve talked about why we write: P.I.E;
to persuade, to inform, and to entertain.
Bible Our lessons this week we will learn through song about the books in our bible beginning with the Old Testament and ending with the New Testament. There is no memory verse this week!
