It is Walk-a-Thon Time!
Our first fundraiser for the school year is the FCS WALK-A-THON. Join us on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the Dixon Bike Path, Washington St., entrance at 9:00am for this exciting opportunity to support Faith Christian School. We will meet briefly at the entrance to the bike path prior to the walk. There will be a time of prayer and a drawing for door prizes for those in attendance prior to walking. The 1-mile marker, signifying the turnaround, will be marked. When you have finished the 2-mile course, you are free to go. Water and snacks will be provided. You do not need to be present to participate in the fundraiser. Just walk 2 miles on your own at another location.
In the weeks leading up to the walk ask friends, family, neighbors, etc. for donations. An envelope with a pledge sheet attached was sent home the week of September 1. Make sure your donors fill out all of their pertinent information on the pledge sheet. If they would like a receipt for tax purposes, please mark “yes” in the tax receipt column and a receipt will be mailed. If your potential donor would like to be billed at a later date, that is also an option. Just make sure to record their correct address with the zip code on the form and DO NOT mark paid. This shows the school office who needs to be billed. Please use the envelope for all pledges collected.
The turn in date for pledge sheet, including all pledges collected, is Wednesday, September 20, 2023.
Online giving is also available through the school’s website. Make sure your donors note your name on the online form so that you get the credit toward your yearly fundraising goal.

The WALKATHON is the only fundraiser in which you get 100% credit for the money you collect toward your yearly fundraising obligation. The top earner for K through 6th grade and the top earner 7th – 12th grade will each receive $100.
Let’s get walking, Faith!

New for the 2023-2024 School Year…
When school starts in August, there will be a new class added at the Elementary. For the first time in the history of Faith Christian School, there will be a second section of a grade added to the school roster…we are going to have two First Grade classrooms!! We continue to give God glory for His unfailing faithfulness to and provision for the ministry at FCS. He is so good!
A note for First Grade parents–Mrs. Worrell will contact you via email by Tuesday, August 1, to notify you of the class in which your child will be.
Our annual Family Fun Night is quickly approaching. It is scheduled for Friday, March 10, and will be held in the Middle School/High School Gym. In preparation for this event, Mrs. K is welcoming donations of individually wrapped candy and little prizes (think McDonald’s Happy Meal toys or stuffed animals). The candy and prizes can be sent to school anytime between now and March 9. Family Fun Night is our annual fundraiser for the Creation Museum/Noah’s Ark field trip that 5th-8th grade students take once every four years. For more information, please contact Mrs. K.
Friday, February 10, is JERSEY DAY at FCS! For $1/student, Kindergarten through 12th grade can wear their favorite team’s jersey (or colors) plus receive a coupon for a FREE Culver’s Sundae. (Money can be turned in tomorrow at the beginning of the day to your child’s teacher for K-4th, and to the office or 1st hour teacher for 5th-12th.) All proceeds raised will go to help the Student Council with 2nd semester activities. The FCS Student Council thanks you for your support!
Family Fun Night is just around the corner! Our annual indoor carnival fundraiser has been scheduled for Friday, March 10, 2023. Currently, we are collecting new or pre-loved stuffed toys to be used as prizes that evening. Please send your clean “stuffies” to the school at your earliest convenience. We appreciate your help and generosity as we prepare for a wonderful evening together!
It is time again for our annual School Work Days. On Friday, August 5, from 4:00-8:00pm, and Saturday, August 6, from 8:00am-12:00noon, volunteers are needed to help get both the Elementary and Middle School/High School campuses ready for the start of the new school year. From cleaning to landscaping, there are jobs for everyone. Please note, if you are planning to help at the Middle School/High School campus, we ask that you park at the Elementary and walk the path to the MS/HS. Paving is scheduled to begin this next week! Yay!
Additional opportunity–Also on Friday, August 5, from 8:00am-4:00pm, we will begin the installation of the new Elementary playground, specifically the natural play area and pea gravel pit. If you would like to also help with this project, please contact Mrs. Worrell via email at cworrell@fcsfalcons.com or call the school office at 815.652,4806.
Make plans now to attend one of the work days…great things are accomplished when we work together! 🙂
