The Workshop Revisions Assignment
Your classmate should have sent you their story.
- Download and save your version; title it with your name and “feedback.” Example = “The Whispers of the Ruins” P. Phil Feedback
- Read it once over without making comments. Consider this a recreational read.
- I do this part with a highlighter (or highlighter tool) and only mark where I might want to come back later and comment.
- Then, skim through it again and apply your comments (10 minimum).
- Write a reflection essay on their story (minimum two paragraphs.)
- Please email your comments and feedback to them and me.

Use one or more of the following prompts to help you think through your feedback comments and reflection essay.

Today, you will
- Read the first two pages of a classmate’s story (more if you have time).
- After reading, summarize the story and the characters to them. Make sure you both understand what’s written so far.
- Then ask the author questions about their vision for the story and how the character/s will develop.
- Give each other ideas on where one could take the story as it is now.

A4, 2.14.24 -Characterization Story pt. 2- Quiz
Today, I will conference with you on your first two pages of the story.
Then, the following four pages will be due Monday. There will also be conferences that day. Your work then will be a quiz grade. I’ll be grading the themes and dynamics of your character. After hearing your vision for the character and reading your story on Monday, I should be able to answer the following,
- What makes your character/s stand out?
- What are the themes surrounding your character?
- How does your character develop/or not develop through the story, and why?
- How does your character’s dialogue affect my impression of them?
The finished story will be a test grade.
