Carmel Dieken was born as a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults). ASL (American Sign Language) was her first language. She started at FCS in November of 2025 as a substitute teaching ASL. No matter what language we are learning effective communication is so important. She looks forward to teaching ASL and sharing about Deaf Culture.
She has been married to her wonderful husband Neal for 42 years. She has one daughter, Jessica Arellano and son-in-law Pastor Philip Arellano who both teach at FCS. Her two granddaughters Emmy and Maggie also attend FCS. They are the joy of her life and keeps her on Her toes!!!
