Maylene Carreno was born in Chicago and raised in both northern Minnesota and Oregon, Illinois. She currently reside in Oregon, Illinois, where she is raising her family. She earned her degree in Elementary Education from Northern Illinois University, with an endorsement in ESL/Bilingual Education.

She started teaching at Faith Christian in 2026 and is excited to begin this new journey and become part of the Faith Christian community. In her free time, she enjoy spending quality time with her family, crafting, and making memories together.

One of Mrs. Carreno’s favorite Bible verses is Luke 6:38: “Give, and it will be given to you.” This verse speaks to one of the values she tries to live by—loving others, giving freely, and helping those around her whenever she can. She believes that when we pour kindness, compassion, and love into the lives of others, God has a way of honoring and blessing our lives in ways we may not always expect. For her, it is a reminder that a life centered on loving and serving others is a life filled with purpose.
