Jill Kohlert grew up in Morrison, Illinois, in a Christian family and has been an educator since 1987 after completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics Education from Northern Illinois University. She went on to complete her Master of Education degree in 1995, also from NIU. In 2012, Mrs. Kohlert returned to NIU and completed 18 credit hours of graduate level Pure Mathematics which enabled her to teach all math classes at Sauk Valley Community College. She has taught at SVCC for the past 20 years. Mrs. Kohlert joined the FCS staff in 2021.
Jill felt called to the mission field in Guatemala where she taught math at a school for children of missionaries from 2002-2007. At FCS, she appreciates the environment that sees the spiritual development of each child as the primary focus, as well as, working together with her Christian brothers and sisters to further the Kingdom of the Lord.
When not in school, Mrs. Kohlert enjoys doing math and logic puzzles, gardening, reading, biking, tennis and badminton. She also enjoys time with family and playing games with siblings, nieces and nephews.
